Reached Tapah R&R 0730hrs
The rest missed the last top up before entering Sadao border-thailand.
We booked our room at CTC (a bus terminal with some food, money changer, fill up white thai white card for RM1, book hatyai room too) RM88 per nite. Lodging RM176.
But the petrol consumption is RM200 upwards alone since we were travelling 160-200kmh
Took $500, $400 change to baht. $100 into RM. In the end, back in Malaysia, changed 4000baht. Reach home still have RM300.

Sing Golden Place Hotel beside a river. Nice clean room w air con, both shower area and bath tub, wifi free. Walk in 890baht per day.

Upon reaching the hotel, hayabusa ceased fire due to over heating.

Dinner had Fried Pig trotter, oyster egg, tou mian, tom yam soup for 1100 baht for 6 persons.

Supper is 100baht broken bird nest and 500 baht blood bird nest.

Went to hotel cafe for coffee and milo before sleep. 95 baht.

Next morning while everyone still sleeping, we went out w our GPS and map.

Near our hotel, the car park captain recommended this place for Bak Ku Tea.

Ordered Tea King, 4 eggs, coffee and tea. Total 340baht.

Bak Ku Tea place near Daichi hotel which charged lodging for 650baht.

After breakfast, we went looking for the railway station.

Lock the location, we proceed to look for the sticker place. Need to make sticker for DR200SE and addition piece on the rear of Fcuk Spyder. Total 70baht. KSM we paid 50baht.

Reach back hotel to sleep. Late lunch wanted to go see the market. Found out the market only open in the morning and night.

Rode around looking for food, stop and had fried seafood noodle. With desserts and noodles total 190baht.

After Hilltop Budda place, we went for dinner near Hatyai Merlin place. Owner don't speak either English or Chinese. Use Body Language to order food.

Pig Stomach soup, century egg (pink colour=century egg not salted; ordered wrongly), fried cat fish, tou mian, spicy frog leg-ordered turn out to be green curry frog!

These Oyster as big MC palm. Tempted to order but cannot afford to go toilet on our way back.

All in 320baht w cokes.

The local green mandrain oranges were very sweet. 60baht per kg.

Gave the rest our location but they don't know how to come. After waiting for 45 min, we meet up with them @ Lee Gardens. Decided to go back had coffee plus milo and call it a nite. Next day need to move off early.

21 March 09, 0800am had our hotel breakfast costing us 284baht for 2 person.

The group split up into 3, we went off first 10am. Another bike (Hayabusa) left 11am. GS and GSX left noon.

On our way back, near Tapah our rear tyre had a nail on it. We plugged it and top up air before leaving Rawang R&R point.

GS and GSX caught w us @ Seremban. Where we also met another group of Transalph STX rider from Betong 1900hrs.

On return journey we only travelling 100, 110,120 kmh. Save alot of fuel. After Seremban top up, it should last us till GP Esso.
Coffee break @ Machap. Top up GP Esso, met up with another group who went for supper. Reach home 0100hrs 22 March 09.

The pool has jacuzzi too. Lemon grass soap to wash salt and it is also mosquito repellant.

Air con room but no blanket!! No internet access- got cheaped.

Snokelling packet cost 1800baht per person included light breakfast( bread and coffee) and buffet lunch. All in swim gear already.

Suntanning on the deck. Very windy despite the hot temperature of at least 40 deg C

2 hours on the Catamaran. It stoped at Koh Phangan and Koh Tao along the way.

Back at the hotel washed t-shirt hang out to sun. The owner were very nice, raining time they hang our cloth back in our room.

We proceed rode to Lamai beach to see the Grandfather and Grandmother rock.

Shop owners charged us for parking the bikes 10baht each.

Further south we went to ATV. 800baht for 1/2 hours-so expensive.

After the ATV, we rode up to the Hilltop for lunch. Each person about 400baht.

View is fanastic so is the price tag.

After lunch, we went over to snake farm 300baht per person. We didn't go instead chat with the owner and found out outside Lamai beach, there is a snokelling island called Koh Tan. Per person w lunch is 1000baht.

Also mentioned of the Naga fireballs 14 Oct 08 annually. The Mengkor river faithfully shoot fireball into the sky from the river.

Before go back to hotel to relax, we rode to Mermaid temple. There are alot of temples and budda place here.

That night we went to Korean BBQ for 99 baht each for dinner.

After breakfast, we moved off to Ferry Point. After 1/2hr of rain, the whole place is flooded.

We took out our wet socks and boot to sun on deck, while we slept the 2 hours journey.

We had our maggi noodle 20baht w hot dog on boat.

Upon reaching the resort, Thousand Island Resort it cost 800baht poolside room.

We ate the resturant - ordered seafood hor fun.

24 Oct 08, after hotel breakfast for 90baht. We rode round Sura thani town.

Sura Thani was known for red salted egg and oyster.

Dinner we had a buffet w the 3NCR guys. It seem there were more than 300 bikes.

Dinner flower crap, oyster, soup, satay and some local dishes.

They were dancing to greet us.

They left the group by noon and headed for Hatyai for another night Golden Crown hotel.

Took Tutu to Tesco for shopping. Found the large thailand map for 90baht.

Importance info: if cannot bring so much clothing 3D worth, dry fit shirts, jeans send for laundry, undies polyster made. Reasons being, u may have them wash and dry in time. These material are quick dry.
Soap, shampoo, powder was tagged reasonable. Need then buy from TESCO nearby.

While Riding to Brinchang, it started raining. We were wet and cold. The Cluny Lodge staffs already prepared our hot meals waiting for us when we reached noon time.

After lunch, we slept. After Dinner (by the cluny lodge staff), we Knock out.

Day 2 Destination Jerantut , Taman Tahan (Taman Negara)
After Breakfast at the lodge 0930hrs we set off.

From Brinchang to Gua Musang; the highway is nice and board.

Route 8 to K.Lipis, Benta, Jerantut (Trunk Road)

1530hrs Jerantut, hungry look for chinese food. Muslim stalls closed due to Fasting Month.

From Gua Musang up Cameron Highlands; it rained, fogged, visibility dropped to CAN ONLY SEE YOUR OWN FEET!
2230hrs reached Rajah town. Cold, wet and shivering like mad. Hope the 99 store still can take order cos we went very hungry.

Seastrom was so cold she refused to take out her gears to have dinner.

After dinner, we continued in darkness back to Brinchang. Ride over a python of diameter 120mm.
We had HOT HOT shower, some beer than knock out. 0200hrs 5th Sep 08
Something to topup regarding the day ride.
Start time:0900hrs 18 deg C, Gua Musang to T.Tahan 33 Deg C. Ride back from Kuala Lipis to CH with the fog, mist and rain 12 deg C. Back at the Cluny Lodge was 17 deg C 0200hrs.
17 hours on the road with different in terrain and temperature. See anyone want to try our version of Endurance Riding.

Day 3 - After Breakfast go town seastrom go buy some natural honey before we depart.

Our bikes were so dirty after going to Taman Tahan.

Stop at Tapah to top up, Sungei Buloh to eat 'lunch' 1700hrs. E6. Seramban to top up. Pagoh and back to GP Esso.

Second Stop Rawang where we waited for Razin. 0800hrs.
Third Stop Tapah R&R where we had our breakfast. Guys had Halal Wanton noodle while we have Kway Teow and Bee Hoon Goreng.

After S.Perak, we exit Kuala Kangsar and headed toward the Gerik 76 highway.
Along the way we saw Tasik Raben.

Between the Thai and Malaysia Custom; there is a duty free shop where we all purchased Asahin beer 2 litre for RM26.40. One whole roll of Cigg is only 62 or 64RM. Thinking how to finish 10 pkt of cigg within 2 1/2 days. Decided not to buy otherwise have to throw it away before we come back into Malaysia border. Together with the beer, Sam advised us to buy mineral water. Thai mineral water taste funny.

After clearing custom, we had to pay RM2 for our bike. There was a declaration room for vehicle entry. Bike log card is need here.

Our lunch seafood mee goreng with special noodle that differ from Singapore. 500baht for 7 persons. Mordecai and Stan took 2 plates of the noodle

Went back to hotel and sleep till 8pm come down for dinner. Restaurant was located at back of an alley. Here, we had green curry wild boar, local fried chicken (commando meat), steam fish, tom yam soup, tafu, fried egg with sugar cane water. Meals for 6 persons 1150bahts. Each person paid about RM12/120bahts.
Here, Dave brief us that cigg and beer were discourage in thailand. It was available but only upon request. Beer is pour into cups and served. Bottle not suppose to be seen on diner table.

After dinner we went to some shops, here was some real bird nest.

Dave brought us to a incest paper shop to purchase of Fire Crackers 100baht per box of 1000pcs(5 boxes were bought), addition to Fire Crackers, I bought a box of First Aid RM27.
Mordecai and I decided to go back to hotel while the rest of the guys went for their body massage. We were suppose to meet up for beer but our body were too tired. Slept. They returned around 11:30pm and hang out till 2am.
This was our underground parking lot. Night time, they lock up the parking lot.

Day 2 10Aug08, we meet up at 8am for Breakfast. Sam overslept. Nearly had to break in to wake him up. Cause Sam was the only guys who know the way around.

Near the Sri Betong Hotel, here was where we had our bike insurance bought.
For a year, it cost 645bahts or bike that is above 150 cc. The year in the insurance is differ from our calender year. Log Card is needed.

After breakfast, we meet up 0930hrs. First tour around the town, stadium, swimming pools, museum.

We decided to eat first. Coconut drinks for everyone. BBQ Chickens 5pcs, BBQ fish, mango salad, fried rice for lunch. Total 950baht. Very expensive. Found out the the fish itself cost 250bahts.

The Core of the hot spring; metal support was meant for people to place their bought egg/ quill eggs to be boil here. The ground cannot be stand on without shoes. The temperate here was 80 deg C.

After Betong Hot Spring we rode to Piyamit Tunnel

Here, Dave ordered his lunch; Durian RM2.5/kg. The auntie opened the durian with this cool fixture. By the way, the auntie gave us a brief of her presence, she was from Muar (malaysia) exile during the 70-80s communist movement. Only recently given her citizenship by the Thai government.

The uncle briefing us about their communist existance during the 70-80s. Exile from Malaysia they hide themselves in the forest and making tunnels. In order not to let the local know of their presence, they even had a filtering the smoke from their cooking area. So that the smoke can be seen as cloud. These exile communist ate anything they could lay their hands on; tigers, elephant, deers, wild boar etc..

Inside the tunnel, this was their fridge. While walking inside, it was relatively cool. There was any fan around but it was cool compare to outside temperature.

This was their University; it was guarded by two policemen. We approached them and asked for permission to view the place. They were very polite and granted us the entry.

Day 3 11Aug 08 Breakfast @ Dim Sum place again because at 8am no stall open yet.
We came across school parade.

After breakfast, we packed up and check out of the hotel.

Dead tired.

Coconut Pudding @RM5, Fried Rice RM8 for two person. We didn't take lunch, so very hungry.

Ride to Kukup durian farm for RM2.50/kg but was close.
So we ate along the road! Durian RM4/kg.
During Riding, all the durian trees were fill with DURIANS!!!
Could not concentrate on riding!!! Very Dangerous!!!Temptation!!!

We started sitting on the road to eat, the rest follows.
The stall holder provide water for rinsing of our hands.

Everyone dead tired, Dinner at Gelang Patah. Mutton Soup super thick.
We washed F.Spyder for RM6.

Reach Yong Peng 100km for breakfast cum lunch. We ate Roti Prata and Telur. With drinks only RM4.90
Diddy our friend, the rest are new to us.

The rest had fish ball noodle. Bought some Baked Char Siew Bao for later to snack on since we had no intention going into the water.

We finally reach the parking lot of the Bekok Waterfall. Outside only indicate Air Trejun.
Road condition consider ok compare to Lake Kenyir experience. The car park descend gradient about 45 deg.

Some bikes went straight instead of the round about. U turned and headed for the highway by 1800hrs.
1900hrs we reached GP Esso. Shell petrol kiosk went out of petrol; it created a jam for petrol.
2000hrs reach home.

Route taken: Tana Rata to Blue Valley (Cameron Highlands) Gua Musang 120km. Taman Negara Kuala Koh to New Highway(Lake/Tasik Kenyir) 100km.
Return Route: Lake Kenyir to Mua Musang 100km, Blue Valley 80km, Simpang Pulai 55km.
Time reaching Simpang Pulai heading down south 1900hrs.
Simpang Pulai to Seremban 230km stayed @ highway hotel. Return to Singapore on 9 June 08 noon 280km.

After we bid goodbye the group, we set off to Gua Musang after breakfast around 0930hrs.
We used the tip given by the group prior to ours, enter into Taman Negara Kuala Koh entrance.

The roads look like these after the entrance.

Just before 18km from entrance, we came across the new road entrance.
Turn Right.

The road lead us into the plantation. If we were to continue, there is a more than 20m depression downwards from the road cause by landslide. 17 May 08, the road was still passer able. But not today.

The roads through the plantation post a great challenge to most vehicles. Potholes with deep and gravels all over the place.

At the last directional indicator leading to Taman Negara Kuala Koh Resort, we turn left into the oil palm plantation.

Shortly we get to see the unfinished end part of the proposed New Highway which was suppose to lead from Gua Musang through Kelantan to Trengganu state.

On our right to the Pipe site was constructed board new highway.

The road continues.

More than 55km from the entrance, we could see this wonderfully view which gave us the assurance that this trip was not wasted.

We found this signage which told us the Trengganu part of the highway over the Lake Kenyir was conmissioned 18 Dec 2007.

Then this.....100m of gravel. There were 3 stretch of them along the highway.

It took us 3hours without food, water and toilet facilities before we came across this familiar petrol kiosk which was 1km away from the entrance to Taman Negara -Kuala Koh

The group reached Tapah R&R by 0630hrs. Everyone was sleepy and tired. We used Simpang Pulai entrance.
Here is Cheeko on his scooter.

Before reaching Simpang Pulai, the guys rode like a flock of birds. Uniform distance and constant speed too.

Some nice scene when we climb the highland dawn time, hands freeze even with gloves on.

Once at the group had safely reach the entrance, we started to slow down. The young ones enjoys the 400 turns like anything.

Mordecai went to pee and drop our bike due to the gradient.
Right Signal light gone, used scotch tape and tape it up before we moved off.

The flowers are so nice!

Since we couldn't check into the apartment, we joined cheeko to the tea plantation/appreciation cafe to have a cup of tea. Breeze and tea was so comforting that we nearly fell asleep. (Have not sleep for the past 12hours since we left Singapore)

Once we reached the apartment, WE KO from 1300hrs till 1830hrs.
Wake Mordecai up for dinner; he was still feeling sleepy, did a sharp 90 deg turn on slope again we fell off the bike again. Scotch tape still holding the right signal light. Good thing we had our gear ons.
Mordecai stayed on the floor and smiled at the apartment's guest.

We stopped and asked 2 policemen for direction entrance to Lake Kenyir via Gua Musang w new highway. Instead the gentlemen told us to go to Kota Bahru and u turn enter thru Trengganu. We were 60km away from Kota Bahru. U turning would take forever.
Mordecai suggest to look for the other group who went in Kuala Koh. After seeing the 30 m drop landslide @ 18km of K.Koh entrance worst than 2 weeks ago, we decided to turn back to Cameron for Lunch cum Dinner.

This is the road suppose to be the new east-west highway from Gua Musang to Lake Kenyir to Trengganu. Not ready yet. So much about the myth.

We ate our lunch cum dinner @ a town before Brinchang. Food was nice and not so expensive.
We had home made tofu, deep fried sotong w sauce, soup and eggs for RM40 (3 perons)

From Brinchang back to Tana Rata took forever with Traffic Jam all the way.

Mersing Beach at Last 1400hrs, some of the newbie mentioned they saw a hepco box opened like a sea shell along the here.

Shortly, we recieved BAD news of several accidents to our guys. Mr Yeo, 50+ skidded 20km away from the destination. At one of the turn (Oil palm plantation), Mr Yeo Frazer 6 skidded and his bike went under the railing. Mr Yeo was speeding to overtake the rest to rush to the front to help to mark. Apparent according to Joe and Richard who stopped to check on the accident, found Mr Yeo suffered head damaged. His eyes, nostril were bleeding. He took his breath in his friends hand.
When the traffic slow down to see the wreakage, another of the rider skidded on the sand pace on the road shoulder. According to eye witness, Airwolf suffered knee abrasion till wound can see the knee bone. Opening was about a 50cent coin.
Thanks to GohKM, he escort the injuried and another 5 more newbies back to Singapore for medical attention.
Joe contacted Mr Yeo family. The body was sent to local mortuary. The same nite, the family claimed his body back to singapore for funeral. Mr Yeo bike was a wreak beyond repair. It was inbound by the local police.
Despite the view at Mersing was fanatasic, the mood was terrible. Barnard was contacted and he rushed to our aid from KL. No one ate anything for their lunch. Patrick went back to the accident site to help the arrangement, file police report etc.

The group re-join 1700hrs. Barnard briefed the group before we left 1800hrs for Singapore.

The mist and fog after 1900hrs along mersing road was terrible; one can describe as pitch BLACK. Visualibilty dropped to a scarely level. Some of them were trying to rush home after the early accident, they speeded. Middle of the return; we noticed our bikes were parked along the side of the road then we saw a ridder on the road. Another S4 skidded. Dave on his siren to warn on coming vehicles, Yuan took our Mag lite to help direct opposite direction traffic while we check the rider's condition. After ensure that he did not suffered from head, major bone injuries; the rider was placed on Dave ST1100 and escorted back to Singapore AH. Rider found with only finger injuries before in shock. Along the way back to JB-GP-Singapore-AH, prayed for his safety- worried that he might fall off the bike...

Home by 2300hrs then we took our lunch cum dinner. Strangely during state of emergency, one did not feel hungry. Grace of God supplied us with energy to handle the needed than you feel hungry!

Taman Negara, KL 17 May 08

Distance covered: 2,500km
Objective : To try to use new highway connecting Simpang Pulai to Gus Musang to Lake Kenyir.

Start 17 May 08 reach @GP Esso 0700hrs.
Ozzar, Blurger, RSM w wife, CSM, Diddy, Larry, GohKM, Black, Cow and GF.

Start off @0730hrs, stop over @Pagoh to top up fuel,

Exit USJ (E6) to Ampang Yong Tau Fu for lunch.

Everyone endeavour in the food around 1130hrs. Travel to the heart of KL - Noble Hotel.

Took the GSP reading of the hotel, bit the rest good bye; we headed to Simpang Pulai which 180km from KL.

As we reached Gus Musang town, it was @1730hrs. We found this indicator to Taman Negara - Kuala Koh. We went in.

Some landslide along the way, not passable for car. Spiker(V-strom) just go over.

As shown in the GSP, we were getting closer to the Lake Kenyir but somehow could not reach it. Dead end. Touch down @ Taman Negara Kelantan Chalet @2000hrs. Tired from the rough journey and having to duck from snake, iguana, cows etc. The inn keeper was very nice, told us that we took a wrong turn. Should have gone to Kuala Krai way instead. She suggested we stay there for a night RM50 chalet, hostel RM12/per person. She cooked dinner for us Mee Goreng @RM4.50 with tea / coffee RM2.

Unable to reach the rest of the group, we decided to travel back to KL.

Journey on highway 8 is terrible. With on coming vehicle shooting high beam at us. Beside the misty surrounding, it get really cold. Both of us caught a chill on our way back.

Reach KL hotel @0400hrs. Showers and went straight to bed.

Day 2 18 May08

Initially we wanted to join the group as they try out the landslide area on Fraser Hill, but our bodys said otherwise. We decided to try out the southern entrance of Taman Negara and see what we can see.

Got Lost In KL for nearly an hour before we reached the upper end of Karah Highway.

Had our lunch at the bottom of Genting.

Move off to Karah Expressway. Exited Bentong, headed north Raub before the junction of BENTA. We turn right and it should lead us to Jerantut.

Jerantut is the entrance to the Southern part of Taman Negara. From there, we travelled to Tembeling Jetty .

Even without travelling up stream of the river, the view is really fantasic. The way to the jetty we came across some up and down road, giving the driver/rider the feeling that they are on a roller coaster. Returning to Jerantut, found a highway which leads to Karah Expressway; at least we can ensure that we can reach KL the shortest period of time.

Reach KL @1930hrs

The group had not returned from their ride yet. Took shower and went to an indian store outside for dinner. The Mee Goreng looked and tasted like our local Chao Kwey Teow. Nice...

Sharing our experiences for the past two days.

Slept around mid-night.

Day 3 wake up 0630hrs, packed and went for breakfast 0700hrs. 0830hrs checking out of the hotel.

We joined the group to Klawang and Pekan Bukit 18 for some twistie ride.

@ Pantai, some bufflo was blocking our way.

Lunch which is chinatown of melaka.

Here we had the famous Nyong Assam Laska and durian chendol. Laska cost RM3.50 but the place was constantly packed with people.

Laska served with tuna fish, cucumber, prawn, 1/2 pce boiled egg and tofu fish fried. The taste is unique. It does beat the Penang Laska.

Black took 2 bowls of Laska and 2 bowls of chendol. Here were RSM and wife enjoying the food.

After lunch, we went home straight with F...Spyder fartting away

We waited till we reach Genting for lunch.

Stop over at noodle house for lunch, the rest not sure what to have; end up coming to noodle house too.

We really drink coffee and tea while @Genting Starbuck -FWH. It seem that the young ones went to Casino except Royston and Clara. Good!!

But the cold air was really terrific. Too bad other missed it!!!!

When we reach there it was 19deg c. We left around 4pm it was 15deg c. Back to HOT weather.

After saying good bye, we head for fraser hill. Originally target to go Taman Negara, but the weather was not favourable. We took Karah and exit Bentong.

At the entrance, we noticed the Danger sign and it was blocked. After asking a local uncle on a scooter regarding the road condition- he told us bike could pass through. So we took the challenge.

As any hill road, twist and turns. There were numerous signs of land slide but NOT THIS CONDITION!!!!

Royston and GF ( I hope wife to be soon) they look so nice together! These were our order for the day. Two sets of fried chicken rice balls, thai spicy chicken feets (ordered wrongly-though it was spicy clams?!) Two ice white coffee and herbal jelly. It only cost us RM28 in air con!!!!!

Been to Melaka more than 5 times on bikes. Usually stay (Bayview) opposite of this resturant. Near the Hospital. Did not notice of this nice place.

After lunch we rode round the corner to left this is tourist shopping site. One has to purchase coupons (either coconut RM3 or durian RM5) at the reception before quene for your chendol here. Our Durian chendol came with this flower handle.

We said our good byes after topping up petrol @ Mobil kiosk. Wanting to try out our new jacket with cold air @Genting.

By the time we reached Air Kedoh(Malacca exit)- we were too hungry and tired.

4 fried chicken , 2 pcs of sea brass(very fresh from farm), veg ,rice and coffee and tea = RM 13.80. The cook food in containers - hygienic kept.

Objective: see if our Bike Dolly can make it to Penang (P.Pinang)

Coffee break @ Pagoh 147km. Having espresso.

After a passing shower, the scene was beautiful. Clear way to Penang. Kept having to put on and off our rain gear.

Paid toll for Dolly RM1.40. The Penang bridge was beautiful at Night. The after work peak hours had the bridge packed with vehicles. Reaching George Town- phobia not knowing the way. Saw the landmark STARCOM building; ride toward it should bring us to town. Before looking for lodging, must deal with emergency- Hunger. How to look for Char Kwey Teow?? Easy- let one nose take over. Smell like char kwey teow then stop for food.
Finished one plate; ordered another.
Stayed over @ Grand Continental Hotel RM108 wo breakfast(thought can find nice food along the way) Should have taken the hotel breakfast for another RM20.

Toilet break @ Sungei Perak R&R. Bought some orange coloured mango for RM2 skin peeled and chilled. Very sweet. The whole place filled by fruits stalls. Even the monkeys were helping themselves with the fruits!

Come across a Heavy Thunder Storm @ Shah Alam E6. Rain felt like bullets on skin despite we were wearing the super thick waterproof rain gear.

Stop @ Seremban R&R for showers and sleep. 3nd Feb 08 @0100hrs started journey back to Singapore. Next Stop Air Kedoh R&R for coffee @0300hrs. Reaching home about 0600hrs

Trip started 0500hrs entering into JB. Stop at a small town 110km away from JB(in the middle of forest near Mersing I think) for breakfast @0800hrs. Traditional noodle and eggs for breakfast. An old uncle aged 80 took interest on our bike. He had never seen our type of bike (Honda Shadow 400 ACE) in his life.

The road condition is good. With lots of dead corpse of chickens, monkeys, cats, dogs along the side.

Never go to a muslim state on HARI RAYA PUSA- no food, no drink, no toilet like North-South Expressway. Of course- No TOLL to pay too.

Took a wrong turn, lost- asked people for direction in Rompin. Interesting Fact; saw a sign board selling Seafood Bak Ku Teh!!!!!?????

If one look at the map and head up Kuantan expecting lots of sea view...... so wrong!!!! this is the only sketch of 10km nice beach we saw along the 320km to Kuantan!!!!!!!

Slow Slow Town on holiday w no food. Only KFC and Mcdonald!!!
Travel 30km towards the coast; only to see a beach crowd by thousands of people (disappointed)

Hello I am Veronica.

We have been touring Malaysia with our Dolly(Honda Shadow 400 1997 American Classic Edition) countless trip.

This is my first BLOG after learning from my daughter eunice how to do it!

Day 1

Set off on 4 Jan 07, we avoid the KL central area thru the use of Elite Expressway (Shah Alam). Since this is was our first time travelling for more than 400km we decide to stop at Rawang R&R.

We checked into the Rawang R&R Highway Hotel which cost us RM39 (offer rate), usual rate is RM49. For "pussy" drivers or riders whom need a place to rest for the night.

After one night rest, we move out the following morning 8am.

Day 2

Other riders like would agree with us after a thunderstorm shower, the scene of the hills was excellent.

After topuping up of fuel at the nearest stop , we exit the Tapah and move up the hillside. At the foot of the hill, our Dolly accidentally ran over one the village's chicken trying to play tag with our bike on of the road. We exchange a few stares with the local villagers and decided to make a run for our life before they do likewise to us. Thank God- they did not catch up with us to demand retribution for the dead chicken.

The trip up the hill was a terrifying experience with lanes less than 4 metre wide and cliff on the right , it is amazing that they have truckers speeding down hill not afraid of dropping off the cliff.( maybe their brakes are not working) but our Dolly advanced at 30 to 40 kmh. ( first gear only)

Midway thru the journey to cameron we happenstance on a tourist spot "Iskandar Waterfall". while trying to take a picture the spare battery - find like mad for it.

We reached Brinchang town @1100am. (Viewed from Cluny Lodge)
One would notice the big cabbages size that we cannot find in Singapore. Twice the human face size. I was wondering if cabbage grow to this size how the cause when transportation to singapore the cabbage shrink to 25cm size?

BOH Tea Plantation - The view was really breath-taking with cool temperature.

We booked Aloha Cluny Lodge $30 (weekend) per day,after a bit of confusion!
Advise-Print your confirmation slip before travel- they would call Singapore to confirm your stay. (no internet access)
We toured around the area to realise there are abundant of hotel lodging but food sucks only SteamBoat found in Brinchang Town, warning To ladies- No Shopping Area!!!!

So we order our meals with care taker of Cluny Lodge @RM30 per adult per day. 3 dishes 1 soup with fruits and tea.

Volume of food- scarily right for 2 persons. but just nice to feed pigs.

Slept early for the night, plan to go see flowers the next morning.

Day 3

After a warm and nice, come with bed and breakfast in the Cluny Lodge, we rode up to ROSE VALLEY to see flowers. Veronica's die die must see before we leave .
We paid RM2 per head for entry.

The Rose Size was as big as a human face.

While I was taking picture of flowers the pig of a husband was happily snoozing away.

It is interesting to see an unique species of insect eating plant.

Tomato, Cactus (Giant), Roses etc were found here.

Noticed no strawberry photos- when one is here, drive around and there are countless strawberry plantation around. Some even come with a cafe for tourist.

After Rose Valley, we bought plastics made flowers and vegetables key chains for RM1 each.
Sad to find out, 3 bundles of roses,tulips etc for only RM5. My Pig Told me not to kill any of them by buying home. The heat along the way home would dehyrate them.

The sourvier shop owner was very kind, she told me an alter road out of Cameron Highland voiding the narrow roads(the way we came). We should just rode upward after Brinchang and we would reach Simpang Pulai.

Day 4

We check out of Cluny Lodge @0800hrs. Camera battery was flat; so no more photos. We followed the shop owner's advise and move upward. The reverse road to Ipoh was alot more boarder and safer then we could move back to singapore using the NSH. IT took more than 300 turns and 2 hours of shower before we arrived @ Simpang Pulai.( Maybe because we did not bath the night before)

Breakfast @ Gopeng R&R. Bought one piece of Chicken Breast. Really cheap but the core was not cook.

Contemple to go straight home or stop for break.

Had lunch @ Air Kedoh (Malacca) and decide to home straight.

ETA Sinagpore @ 1830hrs we were dead "shag" but we still went for dinner with children before we went into Hibernation mode for the 24 hrs.
